The reality of the matter is that reasonably sane people tend to avoid politics like plague. The thought of ruling over the masses scares them.

You're right! Unfortunately, we can't vote for ourselves. We must vote for one of the political parties, and all of them would do the same/similar when voted to power.

And it doesn't make sense in getting in into someone else's shoes, when they are not doing their job right. We are software professionals and we are doing our profession well. On the other hand the politicians are not doing their profession with dedication. If we exchange professions, they will rot the software industry too.
