I've got IE7 on this machine (I have IE8 on the other).

I too am experiencing the 10-second "lock-up"
-- can't scroll, can't even click the "x" button
to close the IE window -- as well as the CPU spike.

Really unfortunate. FoxFire might be the work-around.

Just to clarify -- I don't mind the presence of the ads.
It's the 10-second delay that I object to.
