Can i get a quick yes or no answer? Its about vb6 and excel
Is it possible for me to create a vb program which can format an existing excel spreadsheet?
I.E add/delete information in cells, add borders and colors etc.
The reason why i am doing this is because i have an application which creates multiple spreadsheets which are unformated, so i wna write a small vb app which updates these spreadsheets with a single click

Yes you can.
My Excel tutorial (link in my signature) contains pretty much everything you need. For borders/colours/etc, see the Macro's section.

alacn: Your question on protocol packets has nothing to do with the original topic of this thread so I have split your question into its own, new, thread and moved it to Database Development.
You can find it here.
