I hope you're not suggesting the prevalence of religions justifies their beliefs or proves anything. Does the prevalence of racism, genocide, and wars, over our entire history justify anything? The 20th century was the most violent in our entire history. More people participated and died in wars fought in the name of political ideology, nationalism or self-proclaimed superiority, than ever before. Is that a vindication of their political, nationalistic, or racial beliefs?
And on a less dramatic note, at one time, the vast majority of people
believed the sun rotated around the earth.
