How do you deal with a sloppy teammate?

I think the team mate is really smart, if he is getting someone else do the work. At the end of the day, when the appraisals come into picture, nobody will remember that each delivery had bugs that were fixed by someone else.

Not really - the people I work with who will evaluate him aren't that obtuse, and they'll be asking me for my opinion of him when the time comes.
