Visual Studio 6 Enterprice on Windows XP?

Why cant i instal Visual Studio on my new pc?
When i insert the cd the instal starts and then he need a reboot.
I reboot then i get an error: 16bit error. How can i instal it anyway?

Do you already have a later version of VS on your new PC such as VS.NET? There could be a conflict with the files.

Search Microsoft's site for AUTOEXEC.NT
This is a common problem, and there is a download that has the correct settings. Sorry I don't have a link, but if you search on VBF, you should find that it's been answered before.
