The thing is, this isn't even remotely possible as a supply chain, there is no way those boats could make the trip to America without having to refuel multiple times (in the order of 20 times). Just how much drugs could they carry on one of those boats, and would it really be worth the effort and risk to make such a crossing (and somehow have a second boat with fuel meet you several times) for the limited amount of drugs they could carry. Most of the profit would be taken up on fuel, plus the fuel for the refuelling vessel that would be following (so why aren't the drugs on that boat???).
As Niya said, this is 100% an attempt to gain access to oil reserves and killing innocent fishermen is a small price to pay as far as Trump and his followers are concerned.
I think your off the mark here. These are not innocent fisherman. Most aren't cartel but just trying to make some money. All investigations have found the boats to be carrying drugs. The boats aren't heading to the US or Europe, more likely to a nearby Caribbean island, they're just part of the supply chain. From there most of these drugs are headed to Europe. Most of the drugs coming into the US are coming in through Mexico.

Re: Post election prediction
This is and has always been 100% about controlling Venezuela's oil.
This we agree on. I think there's also just a healthy dose animus toward Maduro as well as a certain amount of puffing fragile egos by "looking tough" but, yeah, Venezuela's oil reserves are definitely a factor - probably THE factor.
It's definitely not the drugs. If you were going to go after a South American country to prevent drug trafficking it wouldn't be Venezuela, it'd be Columbia. And Trump wouldn't be pardoning Hernandez.
I'm curious if we'll get a true account of what happened. Right now there's been nothing but accusations and denials.
I think we'll know for sure if there was a second attack as it sounds like there's actual footage. I think the actual commands that were issued and by who is likely to be a lot more sketchy.
All investigations have found the boats to be carrying drugs.
I'm not sure that's true, at least, not from the sources I'm reading. Apart from anything, you don't put 11 people in a drug boat because that a whole lot of extra weight that could be being used for drugs. If it was illegal it's actually more likely to be have been people trafficking.

The administration has never provided any evidence of drugs though, Trump has claimed they were full of fentanyl and that you could see bags of it on the water after the attack. None of the video footage shows this, and Venezuela isn't a source of fentanyl anyway.
I would say if they have never provided any evidence then there probably isn't any evidence.

I have read a couple of articles from reporters (can't remember the source, my guess would be the AP, NY Times or NPR) that have went there and interviewed the friends and family of some of the victims. They admitted the boats were carrying drugs. I've seen no research that says they weren't drug boats. If you have seen some contradictory research I'd be interested to read it.
Edit:
That said, the lack of transparency from the government bothers me. It always leads to speculations that there's something nefarious going on. In this case, there is already the obvious, killing people without even an attempt at due process.
I wouldn't be surprised if they had drugs. Whether or not they could reach the US is less certain. The fact that it wouldn't be fentanyl is pretty obvious. The fact that it's murder theatre is pretty obvious, too. Destroying a ton or two of drugs at a cost of millions of dollars is just not going to do anything.
Utter crap, I have spent plenty of time in London and I honestly haven't once felt like I was at risk of having my phone stolen.
To talk about people who break the law having to suffer consequences; and then claim to support Trump (convicted felony 34 counts, sex offender, probable paedophile, cheat, liar, and fraudster) is obviously just lies.
I am sure as an American who supports Trump, because he puts America first, you must be overjoyed at his demolition of parts of the Whitehouse, how he had decorated the inside in the same fashion as Epstein's home, how he had increased the cost of living by imposing tarrifs, how he is making America a joke on the world stage, how he falls asleep constantly, how he just insults journalists who ask questions he doesn't like, how he is illegally using the military on US soil...
Other than racists such as farage (whose party is actually a company, been caught taking funds from Russia, and has a history of racism) and Tommy Robinson (not his real name, repeat violent offender who flees abroad to avoid the UK legal system) there really isn't much support for Trump. Hell, a lot of people are happy that Trump's ideas of having to share 5 years of social media will mean they can't be sent to work in America by their company.
I've know Trump was a bad person for 40+yrs but I didn't think even he would make these murders about him.
Reiner, Trump wrote on Truth Social, was killed “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known and sometimes referred to as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”
I've know Trump was a bad person for 40+yrs but I didn't think even he would make these murders about him.
I think that is a new low even for him; using a double murder in such a way is just sick and weird.
Although I have honestly never known anyone so thin skinned as Trump, so basically claiming someone was murdered because they didn't like him isn't too far from his usual behaviour, just a new low.

I don't know if it's a new low, he has been doing things at the bottom of the low meter for many years.
I'm not a psychologist but what ever they call someone who is willing to do anything without regard to write or wrong as long as he thinks it will benefit him, he's at the top of that scale.
This is a little off topic, though Trumps friendship with Epstein is in the article, it's about how Epstein got so rich. It's a lengthy read, maybe 20+ minutes. But if you got time to kill on a winter day, pretty interesting.

It amazes me how easy it is sometimes for amoral people to succeed.
Talking of Trump and Epstein, it is "interesting" to see how he is making an announcement tonight, escalating things with Venezuela, and it just happens to be a couple of days before the Epstein files are supposed to be released...
Almost as if he is trying to find an excuse to delay their release again.

Give the man a break, he's the FIFA Peace Prize winner! He's earned a bit of leeway and should be allowed blow a few things up before we jump to any conclusions.
He did try to end a couple conflicts. He didn't put in any effort, other than trying to lean on people, but he did try. They're all failing, currently, cause peace just isn't easy in some places.

You, sir, have the sophisticated sarcasm worthy of an Englishman. Can I interest you in a cup of tea?

To be fair, the peace between Armenia and Albania looks to be holding.

He is pretty much a bully, who was bullied by his parents. He has to be the cleverest, the richest, the brightest, the fittest, the tallest, the bestest at everything. If he obviously isn't then he just needs to insult and denigrate those who are better than him to make himself feel better.
Now, how people can see a self confessed sex offender (Access Hollywood Tape), a conman (34 felony convictions), multiple bankruptcies, lies about his physique such as claiming he is 6' 3" and 215lbs (this is what 6' 2" an 205lbs looks like), lies about the election being stolen, multiple adulterous relationships, and then think he is a good choice is utterly beyond me.
I guess too many people made his first presidency such a large part of their identity that admitting he wasn't who they thought was too big an admission, so they are just in denial and insist that he is right about everything and all evidence to the contrary is just MSM and fake news.
People refusing to see tariffs as a tax on Americans, people refusing to see how he is a joke on the world stage, people refusing to criticise him for demolishing part of the Whitehouse for god's sake. It is certainly looking like a cult mentality, but say that and the people wearing MAGA hats and have MAGA flags and MAGA bumper stickers and believing every lie from his mouth just claim you are suffering from TDS.

I don't think being bullied by your parent creates someone like Trump. Though that could be part of it. Lots of people are bullied by one or both of their parents. I can only think of two people I've met that have even came close to his personality. And they didn't have near as much hatefulness as Trump, they were mainly pathological liars.

Trump does have his true believers but my GUESS a large segment of the people that voted for him, don't believe all the things he says and know he's not a moral person. But chose him anyway. WHY??? I don't know. I'd say it was in large part because they were still stinging from the inflation spike in 2022 and the immigration problems that the Dem's mainly ignored. It's probably not that simple, you could probably write doctoral thesis on the subject.
I suspect that he WAS 6' 3". People start to shrink as they get older. I'm 6' 3", but eventually, I won't be. I'm not looking forward to the day I no longer reach that mark, though it's probably not far off. Trump has been pictured beside some highly accurate yardsticks, and is clearly a few inches short of the mark, but he's also pretty old. He probably was there, or close enough to round up. It would be a pretty strange height to choose if you were over six feet tall, but never 6' 3", so I believe he once was and just regrets not being there anymore.
As to the weight, he's nowhere close to that weight. Interestingly enough, he claims to be dropping, because he claimed 230 in his first term, and I feel like I have heard him claim 220. The reason for claiming 230 is pretty obvious, as above that would be obese for that height. That's pretty funny, as it means virtually all NFL linebackers are obese, as few are below that line. I'd like to get back down to 230 without shedding all my upper body strength, which I'm doing by exercising for several hours a day. Still, I'm above 230 and I'm a LOT slimmer than Trump. I'd put his weight at between 280 and 300.
Those lies are still lies, I just think they are understandable.

Looks like you were right, Trump has now taken the leader and his wife, declared USA will be running the country, and sending US oil companies in as well.
Hope all the Trump voters who denied it was to do with oil, but still insisted it was the non-existent fentanyl, are starting to see what it was all about. After all if he was serious about stopping drugs he wouldn't have pardoned a convicted drug importer.
This has always been about taking over the country to get at the oil reserves, under the pretence of drugs. Greenland isn't for security it is for rare earth minerals (same as Ukraine); his attacks on Nigeria under the guise of protecting christians (ignoring other countries where christians are persecuted) just happens to be rich in oil and natural gas as well.
How blatant can he be and still get away with openly attacking countries without any legal reason to do so. He is an absolute psychopath on a major power trip. And a paedophile in all likelihood. Who would have thought child rape, warmongering, sexual assault, fraud, adultery, racism, and an utter lack of empathy and care would be such an attractive thing for people to follow.
It could well be about the oil. It's definitely not about fentanyl. But I don't think Trump actually cares about the oil or rare earth minerals or anything like that. Trump only cares about Trump. This will give him something to brag about. He loves telling people how great he is. He spends his life trying to convince everyone of that (and probably himself).
The only other motivation I can think of is if there was a financial benefit. And that's quite possible.
I'm puzzled by this one, too. The one thing that is consistent is that Trump looks for an easy answer to a complicated problem. This one is going to backfire, too, but we have yet to see how. Maduro was a buffoon. He wouldn't have been the president if he didn't have the backing of the military and security forces. Are those groups now going to say, "okay, guess we'll switch our allegiance to the person who probably won the election, even though they have no reason to like us and every reason to want to get rid of us."
I kind of doubt it. Without knowing what the security forces will do, will oil companies want to go rushing in? I rather doubt it.

Re: Post election prediction
I think for Trump it's about ego and legacy but you also have to look at the people who are manipulating Trump and guiding his actions. For Rubio it's a resentment thing as his family fled Venezuela. For Kegsbreath it's about fragile ego and wanting to flex his warriors. For Miller it's about the number of migrants that were coming from Venezuela. For his business donors it's all about the oil.
There isn't a single, coherent strategy behind this. Just a bunch of sociopaths manipulating a demented old man to pursue their goals for them. When enough of the sociopaths happen to want the same thing it results in enough ass kissing for Trump to act.
his attacks on Nigeria under the guise of protecting christians
I actually don't think bombing Nigeria was about the resources as he doesn't appear to have pursued it further (though you're right that they've got plenty). I think that one was for show and flex. It was red meat for his base. I could yet be proved wrong though. And the others I 100% agree with you on.

Bombing Nigeria is similar to other things he's done in his first term. As long as it's showy and aggressive with no real commitment, it's something he might do if the mood strikes him. Something has gotten him riled up, quite often something on Fox, and he does something visible, aggressive, with no intention of sticking with it. It's just a reflex with him.

Yeah, that sums it up pretty well. I think it's in the same vein as offering a migrancy route for White "refugees" from South Africa - it required minimum effort and fed a narrative.

There isn't ANY coherent strategy behind this. lol
It's clear Trump has no plan of action from this point. We're going to run their country, now we're going to coerce them to do what we want, .....
He got his headlines and to make a speech, he's done. It up to his lackies to figure out what to do now. Then if something good comes from it, he'll take credit. If it turns out bad he'll blame others.
I know I'm curious what's going to happen next. It sort of depends on what their vice president (now president I guess) does and if the military supports her. So far they seem to and so far she still appears to support Maduro.
I've always hated bullies and the ignorance of "might makes right". Miller seems to embrace it.
“Nobody’s going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland,”
“We live in a world, in the real world, Jake, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power,” he said. “These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”
I think Sanders gave a good analysis,
“Mr. Miller gave a very good definition of imperialism.”
“Trump has made it clear he wants to take Venezuela’s oil,” he added. “Last I heard, this is what imperialism is all about. And I suspect that people all over the world are saying, ‘Wow, we’re going back to where we were 100 years ago, or 50 years ago, where the big, powerful countries were exploiting poorer countries for their natural resources.’”
It's disappointing to see our country saying it's OK to take what's not yours.
Sadly there are a lot of useful idiots working for the enemies of the United States. And their biggest use is creating lots of small useful idiots to in turn become our enemies at home.
Even the globalist Evil Empire based in London knows what's up now.
Sanders is full of **** and just reading from a script. You can see it in his stare focused on a teleprompter when he speaks these days.
I don't know if he reads from a teleprompter or not, it has no relevance. I agree with the what he said. Our current actions in Venezuela, threats of taking over Greenland, are the very definition of imperialism.
a policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy or military force.
I never mentioned regime change but since you brought it up,
There is no "regime change" here.
Trump has said multiple time that the US runs Venezuela now. If it's not regime change , then why don't you explain what you think it is. Try using words instead instead of a youtube video.
Name calling and buzz words isn't much of a rebuttal.
Sadly there are a lot of useful idiots working for the enemies of the United States. And their biggest use is creating lots of small useful idiots to in turn become our enemies at home.
Sanders is full of **** and just reading from a script. You can see it in his stare focused on a teleprompter when he speaks these days.
People use teleprompters, remember Trump's meltdown when he claimed sabotage over a faulty teleprompter at the UN? He even said “The people that did it should be arrested!” Turns out it was a problem by his own team.
So Trump is allowed a teleprompter, but anyone else who uses one is full of ****? Explain your thought process please.
There is no "regime change" here. If you want a clue then look at the facts:
So trump saying USA will run Venezuela isn't regime change? Trump threatening "big price to pay" if Caracas fails to toes the line isn't a regime change? Just because Trump says something, doesn't mean it is true.
How about threatening to take over Greenland then? Does that count as regime change?
Sadly there are a lot of useful idiots working for the enemies of the United States. And their biggest use is creating lots of small useful idiots to in turn become our enemies at home.
Enemies of the USA who have done things like tanked the economy with increases in food, fuel, and general cost of living?
Enemies of the USA who have ruined trading deals with former partners with stupid on / off tariffs, effectively improving China's financial position? e.g. Soy beans previously sold to China no longer being sold, costing you about $12 billion, and then bailing out Argentina who China were buying Soy beans from!!??!!
Enemies of the USA who have destroyed healthcare for millions with increased premiums, plus some of the biggest increases in cases of measles and chickenpox? Hell approx 650,000 people file for bankruptcy because of medical costs!
Enemies of the USA who have removed trained, respected, and qualified military personnel and replaced them with under-qualified people (the kind who leak secret information in WhatsApp groups), effectively damaging your nations ability to operate effectively?
Enemies of the USA who have used American military against Americans on American soil?
Enemies of the USA who have seriously damaged your tourist industry? Approx $12.5 billion lost in 2025 alone.
Enemies of the USA who have damaged your countries reputation by being an obvious paedophile and hiding the evidence despite failing to provide the documents being a breach of the law.
Enemies of the USA who have withheld billions of dollars from schools, job cuts in the 1000s.
Enemies of the USA who have run rampant through government departments under the guise of cost cutting (DOGE) and basically saved nothing, lied about how much they saved, destroyed useful schemes, fired people, had to rehire people, and left chaos.
Enemies of the USA who have left it without a functioning legal system (DOJ and FBI are now pretty much puppets to Trump), a Congress that is a puppet to Trump and rubber stamps everything while refusing to uphold your own nation's laws, a high court that refuses to uphold your nation's laws were Trump is concerned.
Enemies of the USA who have pardoned multiple convicted criminals, including major drug importers.
Enemies who have actually destroyed part of the White House, I always assumed this was an important symbol to Americans - guess not if parts of it can be knocked down on one man's whim.
If you had to think about what a person could do to damage the USA from the inside, could you think of anything else they could do in addition to the above list? Your military is undermined, your health is getting worse, your economy is getting worse, your education is getting worse - all of these things are going to make you less of a nation in the future.
Even the globalist Evil Empire based in London knows what's up now.
Sounds more like something from Star Wars then London, but I guess I am not watching the same youtube videos as you.
