So now we see why DEI wasn't a bad thing - a black man who is more than qualified for the job has been fired, and replaced with a white man who doesn't actually meet the legal requirements for the role.

Hegseth even called his suitability into question because his skin colour could have been the reason he was promoted (no evidence, and he was qualified for the job).

So it looks like being anything other than a white male can now be considered as a reason to fire, or not hire, an individual. Even if they are better qualified for the role.
