Yeah, eventually....maybe. It's horribly expensive. I'd put my money on the private sector, at this point. Still, this one is ready to go now.

It probably triggered some leftist so it became forbidden. Welcome to 2022!

I would suspect just mentioning Press would ban you for life. But it needs the whole phrase with "-" ...

Well, it was a total moon shot to begin with...

Still, it's pretty clear how this got banned. Some time in the past, some spam bot started hitting the site with press releases, so they got automatically pruned as the simplest solution.

Oh come on. You expect me to buy that? I'll tell you what really happened. Some leftist came on the boards and encountered the phrase in a thread. His virtue signalling leftist genes kicked and he decided that release meant "sexual release" and then he decided to be offended. He then went onto Reddit to tell all his leftist buddies about his harrowing ordeal on VBForums where he narrowly escaped the sexual deviants there who wanted to force him into perverse acts. He also threw in a couple of leftists buzz words like "patriarchy" and "rape culture" for good measure. He then received thousands of replies telling him of how brave he is and re-assuring him that he is in a "safe space". He is hailed as a hero and many celebrated his courageous deeds that allowed him to survive having to read the degenerate posts on VBForums.

The VBForums higher-ups got wind of this and went into damage control. They called an emergency meeting of admins and moderators to discuss how to repair the damaged reputation of the site. It was decided that the phrase would be banned and a cover story about spam bots be put in place to hide VBForums' dark past from the public.

Yea, you guys ain't fooling anyone. I know the truth!

    Pfff.
I shwould be expecting from moderators here to know how to go to admin--control--restrictions--dictionary and unban the word (ooppsss I know too much...Exposed!)
But what can you expect from one that got the vaxbs and became a dog zombie and another that gone hiking and could not bring a laptop with him..
Anyhow , I propose when we write "leftist" to transform to "Niya GOD" and sexual to sapator, So the above would be corrected and become:

Some Niya GOD came on the boards and encountered the phrase in a thread. His virtue signalling Niya GOD genes kicked and he decided that release meant "sapator release" and then he decided to be offended.

That's above our pay grade...which is zero, but it's STILL above it.

Would it help if I said that I considered it? I did carry a laptop (actually, a Surface Pro) biking last summer. It's light enough that it COULD be carried hiking, I'm just afraid that I'd end up destroying it, and I'm just not yet willing to take that risk.

I shouldn't worry too much that you destroyed it. That MS stuff have a big "L" written on their forlaphead. "L" et the carnage begin, so it probably blew by itself.
It would help a little. It would help a lot more if you've gone swimming carrying a tower desktop with a portable sun generator while holding an umbrella, yelling "It's Niya's fault and the leftish synology!,it's Niya's fault and the leftish synology!, 55! 55! "

I can't do that. The only tower desktops I have were all made from cut metal. Those edges are waaaaayyyy too sharp to go swimming with.

Sapator, be careful. Niya will label you a Niya God, and not because of any sapator release, but your idea of new filters.

Re: Bang! Zoom! To the moon!

Actually, I'm on the fence on the entire space program. As SH said it's very expensive and I'm not sure we'll get anything from it. I'm glad we stepped back from the "going to Mars" idea and focused on the moon. It's a much more reasonable way to work out/test going to and landing and returning. But until we have developed a much faster and longer distance means of propulsion what's the point. I understand you have to start somewhere but we have already started in 1969 but we haven't made any significant gains in propulsion since. Just not convinced it's money well spent.

You would use the umbrella to fly above them, or an imitation of Donald Duck shark attack (I bet you've seen it).

It's not often I find myself agreeing with the Donald but I actually think he was right about creating a military arm focused on space as a theatre of war. Admittedly "Space Force" is a bloody silly name and makes me think of the Muppet Show but an ability to attack an opponents space based assets while defending your own could be absolutely essential in a future global conflict. E.g. knock out an opponents Comms and GPS satellites and you've pretty much crippled their combat ability on the ground.

I have no idea what it would actually look like but I don't imagine it would be x-wings and men in space suits with pew-pew lasers. It needs smarter minds than mine with a knowledge and understanding of the field to identify what capability would be needed - a military wing provides that.

To me it was just another of his moronic ploys. He just slapped Star Wars uniforms an a small part of the Air Force Space Command. They were doing just fine without a "space farce". It will be a long time, if ever, that this country recovers from his time in office.

I agree, but even though these ploys seem moronic to us, they sure seem to work on a large segment of this country.

I agree with FD. I don't think the idea of a Space Force was even something that Trump had much of a hand in. He might have had a big hand in the NAME, but not in the organization. From what I have heard, it does make sense. Yes, it could have remained an arm of the Air Force, just as the Air Force was an arm of the Army, at one point. Separating it out underlines the significantly different, and significant, role that space is likely to play in any future big power conflict.

Isn't a lot of the direct "aid" to Ukraine intelligence gathered by "Space Force" operations?

Unless we delve into Reagan's "Star Wars" tech like Rods From God most of "Space Force" is probably about spy satellites and such.

I just don't see it that way. I see it as a silly Trump vanity project that is just making another bureaucratic monster. The U.S. Space Command will be fighting any wars. The Space Farce is right up there with the election being stolen. More Trumpian BS. The moron even made it a campaign item by creating a mechanism for people to vote on the emblem and what a shock "Star Wars" won. He even wanted Melania to design the uniforms because of her "fabulous fashion sense". Maybe that would have worked. She could of put "who cares" on the back.

    Edit:

As I read a little more I guess it had been in the works for a while and Trump jumped on the bandwagon. When it comes to Trump I've lost my guardrails: rolleyes:

Biden's latest witch hunt is faltering badly. Things are going so poorly that Dems running this fall have dropped the issue and turned their hopes to abortion and anti-China rhetoric. The Space Force isn't on anyone's radar as a viable issue.

Which hunt? I'm not aware of one going badly or otherwise.
