But here we go regarding ICU-occupation in Europe (all in the midst of their own "Omicron-takeover" in the last month):

Most countries are "flat-lining" (like the UK) in their ICU-occupation over the last 6 weeks which are shown in the graph.
Many have ICU-curves which are sinking (like e.g. in germany).

All that *despite* huge Omicron-waves in that time-period (Omicron taking over from the D-Variant with a large surge of cases).

For completeness: there's a few exceptions in Europe (like, France Italy, Spain, ... below compared to the US and Canada)

Not sure, why these differences exist in the curves of France, Italy and Spain... -
maybe it is due to different counting/reporting as:
- being in the ICU "due to Covid",
- versus "in the ICU for other reasons, but Covid-positive" (and then counted in)
...

A psychological component could also play a role here IMO ...
(regarding the amount of fear-mongering which takes place in the media in a given country).
