I agree you can find things on YT or podcasts that you wont find on any of those media outlets. But the point I'm trying to make is no matter where it comes from, you need to use the same filters. Just because they say something you don't hear on "mainstream media" doesn't make it true. So when people say I don't trust my news from mainstream media my first thought what makes you think you can trust non traditional informational sources. If your looking for a lot of different opinions thats a place to go. It's also the place to go find someone to reinforce your narrative.

I just don't buy into "I don't get information from mainstream media" as a badge of honor. Just depends on the person.
Yea, I'm not able to explain it properly. I just know it when I see it. Like I could watch a piece of content and sort of feel it out. It's not very scientific, I know. But what I do know is that the mainstream is not to be trusted without some deep scrutiny. Now I want to be very clear about this, you have to be extremely skeptical on non-mainstream content as well. There are a lot of shysters in these spaces looking to rip people off but at the same time, you will find some very interesting insights into certain topics that you will never hear about in the mainstream.

What I'm about to say, a lot of folks will disagree with but whatever. Bottom line is this, I've figured out for a few years now that the left leaning subset of American mainstream media, which includes big Hollywood studios and huge networks like CNN and MSNBC seem to be on this mission to brainwash the world into believing all manner of insanities, like humans having 56 genders and even greater insanities I cannot even mention on a left leaning website like this without starting a war. I don't know why they are doing this but all I know is that they are.

I really can't make anyone understand what I'm talking about so if you take nothing else from this, take this at least. Know that those talking heads you see on the news do not have your best interest at heart. At best, they are trying to keep us from tearing each other apart, and at worst, they are programming us to be compliant so that we could be easily exploited by the upper class.

A classic example of this exploitation is your American dream, the older version where you spend 40 years of your life working a 9-5 so you can barely make enough to keep your life going while paying a mortgage just so the home can finally be yours after you've slaved away your entire life and are about to kick the bucket. When you think about it and I mean really think about it deeply, you realize that this is absolute insanity, but we have accepted this as normal because that is how we were programmed. Ask yourselves who really benefits from this arrangement? Another example is the promotion of the idea of savings to the middle class. Upper class people who know how the game is rigged don't save, they invest but they don't teach this to the middle class. Again, who benefits? You would never hear about this kind of thing in the mainstream but there are a lot of people, a whole lot smarter than me talking about this is "other" places(yes, that includes YouTube)...

I could on and on but I'd need to a whole book. Best advice I can give is to be open minded and don't be afraid to open yourselves up to different points of views, even those points of view that your "mainstream buddies" would consider mad. Also, and this is a big one, believe in yourself. If you have a feeling something is off or something you are hearing doesn't sound quite right, do not be afraid to trust yourself. Don't every let anyone convince you that you are crazy. Too many people ignore their instincts because they are afraid of becoming unpopular.
