    I can't change the nature of Mathematics!

    2% of 2000 is 40, so 2000 + 2% of 2000 = 2040
    2% of 2040 is 40.8, so 2040 - 2% of 2040 = 1999.2

    What did you expect ? (you may have to go back to School if you expected 2000 )
