Re: In the market for a new laptop...
In terms of testing though, keeping around a XP, or Vista VM can be very handy though.

Re: In the market for a new laptop...
True and I do have both but I only use them for testing. So far I have no issues running the following in tandem:
VS2008
VS2010
XNA 3.1
XNA 4.0 beta
Silverlight 2,3 & 4
Office 2007 & 2010
Expression Suite 3 & 4
I do have to say I have a VM for technical previews that I want to try but not use on a regular basis. I did talk to a few people who recommended against Server2008 as an operating system. 3 of them from this forum and two where previous members.
Windows 7 with virtual pc seems fine for my limited use.

Re: In the market for a new laptop...
Hey,
Just thought I would follow up with this.
I bought myself a Dell Studio 15. Got it in the post yesterday, and so far, loving it!!

Made a couple of tweaks from the base offering, so it came in at £800, but think it is worth it.

Re: [RESOLVED] In the market for a new laptop...
Thanks! So far so good.
I haven't put anything on it yet, trying to decide how I want to approach it, and do things right the first time.

That is a nice laptop Cavar, and a nice price!!
I was debating about whether to up the RAM, but decided to wait and see. Can always throw in more RAM later.
