This is no joke. I rolled a ball across my keyboard by accident, and it bumped some key combo and brought up this awesome thing.
I am using 5 monitors, and it brought up some screen that showed all my desktops and I could interact with it. I am not sure what all you could do because I exited it accidentally before playing with it, and now I have no idea how to get it back.
Anyone happen to know what kbd combo does this?
I am using ATI video, with Catalist control center, and a MS Wireless Comfort Kbd 5000.

Meh, I think maybe my mousewheel+click brought up the ability to choose between running programs, through the Catalyst functionality. Maybe that is all I was seeing, I will post pic.

I have a similar functionality on my wireless logitech mouse. In XP it looks like a small windows with a 'listview' like list of running apps. But on W7 it has that smooth animation that shows applications sroted in a gird with transparency.
And did you try shaking a window? Grab the title bar as you would to move it, then shake it around a bit.
That feature was actually announced and they advertised it when they had win7 commercials. Obviously the screen sizing and maximizing regions are well known too.

the screenpic posted above is a function of the microsoft mouse driver. Not as slick as expose it steals from but not bad. if this not what you saw i would research the catalyst shortcuts as xp doesnt natively have multiple desktops
Do you have a virtual desktop manager installed? If Yes, then probably the shortcut key is mentioned in it's reference manual or similar kind of document...
A good exercise for the Heart is to bend down and help another up...

the shortcut is older than that. It's always been used to cycle through open windows. Vista just added eye-candy to it.
WinKey + Tab can't be that old, WinXP doesn't even have it (I bet Server 2003 doesn't have it either). I'd say since XP doesn't have it, it's probably new to Vista of which Win7 has it too.
Alt + Tab on the other hand has been around since Windows 3.11 (probably since before even that) and Vista spiced that up some, they did make a spiced up power toy for XP that didn't work right anyways, but the WinKey + Tab is a whole lot better than Alt + Tab and I love it.

I thought that but I just tried WinKey + Tab on XP and it does kind of cycle through the windows... just not in an obvious way. Look at the taskbar as you do it and you see each window get highlighted. Its just that you have to press Enter once you have the correct window highlighted to show it.
Also another tip for the Flip 3D thing, if you do Ctrl + WinKey + Tab then it makes it so that the Flip 3D thing stays up even if you let go of the keys, so you can just hit Tab to cycle through them or click on the one you want to select.

I've got XP SP3 here at work and when I do that right now nothing happens.
Last night before posting I fired up my XP SP3 (Complete default install) and it didn't do a thing, so if you're pressing WinKey + Tab on your XP comp, it's because of something you installed, XP itself doesn't have any WinKey + Tab functionality.

Ctrl + WinKey + Tab doesn't do anything on my XP SP3 computers either, though FF will cycle through the tabs but that's a FF thing, not XP.

So, it basically does nothing I guess except you will lose focus on whatever proggy has the focus.

I dunno I have never installed anything that would do that... Are you sure you looked at the taskbar when you did it? Nothing pops up on the screen or anything like that, it just highlights a different window on the taskbar.

Yeah thats why I said Flip 3D - that is the name of the Winkey+Tab feature in Vista/Win7, not the feature in XP.
and maybe it can be turned off, but i have that key combination working on nine different computers in my house, and 5 of those have xp and one has xp embedded. It can't be graphic controllers doing it, because the functionality is identical on them all and between them only two are ati, one is via, and the rest are intel graphics. (i'm currently selling a bunch of dells and two mac minis)
