Re: Record key strokes
Witing a Keylogger will probably not be supported here.
Sometimes the Programmer
Sometimes the DBA

Dear Akhilesh,
Thanks for the interest taken. My problem is..........
Once I log in, my VB file should start working and keep a watch of all keys pressed and record them in any file for later use.
Hope you will come up with a solution.....of course I will rate you the best.
Thanks

Re: Record key strokes
Why are you allowing him the access to your files if you don't trust him? Till the time you come up with a very good reason (which I am yet to see in VBF for keyloggers) I don't think you will get an answer to your query....
A good exercise for the Heart is to bend down and help another up...
Please Mark your Thread " Resolved", if the query is solved

Re: Record key strokes
And a keylogger won't prevent anything. Use User Accounts to prevent unwanted access or NTFS permissions.

Re: Record key strokes
Indeed.. with a keylogger your friend will be able to view/edit/delete all of your files, and it won't do anything at all to stop them - or return your files to how they were.
The proper way to do this is as LaVolpe mentioned, which is to set up a different Windows login, and either get your friend to log in using it, or use it yourself to store your documents in a different (protected) folder.
There are very few cases where a keylogger is a valid solution to a problem, and this is definitely not one of them.

This one needs to be dumped. Get rid of it for the benefit of everyone.
Slower than a crippled Vista
More buggy than a fresh XP install
Look! Down the road, some 50 miles behind the drunken snail.
It's Ubuntu!

Re: Record key strokes
The method needs to be dumped, because it is no way a valid solution to the issue.
A far superior (and easier, and less risky) solution has been put forward, and we will help uknair do that (or another suitable alternative) if needed.

Re: Record key strokes
Dear Friends,
Thanks for all the discussion and the replies. I too think the solution is to use protected folders. This problem hence is dumped....
Once again thanks to one and all who gave valuable suggestions.
