A positive look:

  1. Suppose a person from my country wants to ask a question in VBForums. And he doesn't have good knowledge in English(only assumption). So, if he wants to interact with the members, he needs to express his thoughts using English language. But if he knows that, there are other members from the same country, then he can PM/contact them for their help. And he can express the thoughts/question in his regional/national language.
  2. If there is any country specific events (like festivals - onam, holy, etc...), the members of that group can wish greetings to them, Or they can ask for joining a public meeting/ report new events, etc.....

That's what I think....!
And please don't think that, I am trying to do some partitioning among the members....
An American or Norwegian poster could help an Indian too. As for contacting members only from India, again why should the user restrict himself to only Indian members?

For events specific to a country, you can post it as a thread in the Chit Chat.

The very idea of creating something different for a specific country goes against the nature of an internet forum which is visited by people all around the world. We are here to cross the national/cultural/religious boundaries and become a community beyond such boundaries.

This may sound a little rude, but if you are thinking of starting an India specific forum/group here, you haven't yet understood the true nature of this forum.
