There is a simple rule with regard to making money out of blogs...

"If you have to ask how to use a blog to make money, you will make no money"

You will need the following things:

1) Your own domain, wordpress.com/myblog just won't cut it
2) Appealing and regular content
3) Lot's (and I mean shed loads) of visitors
4) A cup of coffee

All forums don't get visitors. There are some that get a ton of traffic.
