Thumbs up VB6 E-Book by Francesco Balena

I didn't know this existed as a free resource. For anyone interested, here is a link to it. Maybe this can be added to the tutorial section?

Didn't see one either, though in the top right corner are navigation arrows so you can view it page by page.

koolsid, a good reference. Maybe the tutorial section might be modified to included an E-Book section where such things can be added. Until then, might be worthwhile for VB6 newbies to bookmark these invaluable references.

All of the links above no longer work.
I managed to download ALL the above PDF's from Scribd. (Plus a few more advanced VB6 PDF's)
You can register and get 1 month free. (I registered today.)
They have a bad rep for continuing your monthly payments, after you decide to cancel.
I used PayPal to subscribe, which I believe gives us more control over periodic payments if we later decide to cancel.

Good Holiday Greetings to you Rob....(Haven't seen you around a whole bunch lately). Have not looked at the link you provided, but I had (long ago) downloaded the 'VB6 Black Book' and have used it extensively in learning a lot of this development tool. I found, once again, the pdf located at: https://www.pdfdrive.com/visual-basi...-d1481256.html , for anyone interested in just that book (with no subscription costs or sign-up). Free, I like, and this is. Oh, and thanks for digging up an old thread that just may help some of the newbies out there.

    Hi Sam,
I think you might have given me more sites to explore.
    Thanks,

Re: VB6 E-Book by Francesco Balena

For those that have the book "Programming Microsoft Visual Basic 6" by Francesco Balena AND do not have the CD, I may have good news for you.
I am Scottish, and I believe this expression is also Scottish - "It's an ill wind that blows nobody no good"
What that means is - even when the majority suffer from some calamity, there may be a few that get benefit from it.
That has just happened to me.
I scoured eBay to purchase a paper copy of the book. I found a few for sale, but they gave little mention of the accompanying CD.
I wrote to a couple, but receiving no replies, I ordered one. Then they wrote back and said there is no way they can pre-check if the CD is included.
I just completed another hour searching for a seller that could guarantee the CD would be included.
    No luck this time either.
Speaking about "Ill winds", I would call VB.NET another ill wind
I googled some more and came across a web site using the contents of the VB6 CD as examples of migration to VB.NET
And that web page has a link to download all of the CD's examples -
    http://www.vbmigration.com/Documenta...ammingVB6.aspx
    Rob
PS Here is another download O'Reilly -
    https://resources.oreilly.com/exampl...35605589_files
Top right, there is an icon that looks like a Q (but the circle part of the Q looks like a cloud)
That zip is organized differently, and may have more in it

I have added another link to my post above.
You might pop up to Gourock to see if anyone remembers the Crombie's.
They will have to have a good memory, as we left 68 years ago

Some of the of the posts in this thread are promoting copyright violation, which is a violation of this sites usage policy.

As an author that has spent thousands of hours writing technical books, I'd like to ask that you don't share links to sites that pirate books and distribute them illegally.

    Thanks!
