Well it seems to me that it would depend on where you live. I live in South Africa and here VB is very hot. As for what you can do with it, the answer is quite a lot IF you know how. VB allows you to make calls to the Windows API, the Internet API, heck just about any API you can think of.(by that i mean dll's) I can write a program in VB that can open a gate or a door after your fingerprint has been verified. As a matter of fact i did write such a programMy point is, VB is very flexible because it is limitless because it allows you to make calls to external libraries. As for it being slower than C++, It might be but I'm sure we will see an improvement soon.
Oh yes. DiGiTaLeRrOr, I think you are a snob. Just because YOU know C++ and are so proud of the fact that it takes you six moths to create a decent program, does not meen the rest of the world have to be so stupid.
One more thing. If VB is so bad then why is it part of the Microsoft Certified System Developer's course?
