Caught in the act!!

When I was away at the weekend my employers nosed around my machine and saw all the posts/replies and stuff I got from this forum.

They tried to cut me off.

Facists.

I hardly ever post.

Can you imagine what they would have said if they looked at the machines of DiGiTaIErRoR, alienpooh or rinoaheartilly.

Any tips out there on how to avoid this in future. My job sucks, I'm thick and I need a bit of relaxation.

I feel like I'm working in a Gulag or something.

Clear your temporary internet files, or don't use any cache whatsoever...

Change the Admin password, that's if you're using 2K or Xp or whatever

Why did you only mention those two versions of windows? Are the versions too easy to hack?

NT, 2000 and XP - you need the password to get in.
And if you're using an NTFS partition you could do a myriad of things to your files.

Windows9x based systems though.
Laughable security.

Nope - those are probably the hardest, and those are the only one we run here (save the testing machines).
But I didn't have to go through all that - the network admin here types at the amazing speed of 1 letter per minute

As Jamie said, 9x: during boot, hit F8, go into DOS, find & delete/rename all .pwl files & you're in

Top Tip: Logon to another computer as Admin using "Remote Desktop Connection", surf from there

You can also just press Cancel at the login prompt and get in on 9x... way too easy.
