maybe the Admins can zero out their reps every so often instead of disabling them?

That would then defeat the entire rep system because some of the reps would not be reflective of the community. Better to let people turn them off than to manipulate settings.

In general, many of the people that would want to turn them off are likely to be those with bad or low reps.....
