Hi,

I have this P2P software (Ares from Galaxy) installed on my PC. Every few days, I find that the exe file is deleted from my system suspiciously and the shortcut on the desktop that points to this file stops working. All other files are intact. I have tried uninstalling the program and installing it again afresh several times, but the problem continues.

If I keep a copy of the exe file and replace it back into the programs folder when the problem occurs, it starts working again. So it is confirmed that only the exe file is being deleted, nothing else.

The most likely cause my hardware engineer pointed out to me was that either my Antivirus or firewall is misbehaving. I have AVG Antivurus (Free Edition) and Zone Alarm (Free Edition) installed. But The log files of both these software show nothing about this.
I don't want to reinstall these programs since I have limited bandwidth from my ISP. I would have to download them again and a huge amount of updates would need to be installed again too. Moreover, I'm not facing any such problems for any other software except Ares.

I have scanned my PC for viruses and other malware thoroughly both with this antivirus and online scanners too, but found none.

Does any one here have any idea about this?
