You clearly have no understanding of the nature of addiction. RobDog would mainline mustangs if he could.

Naw, I dont want to ever sell one. You pay interest on the loan, they decrease in value over teh years (usually with any car) and if I dont sell the I dont lose any money :D
Thanks for the early bd. :thumb:

Well I do have a side business for mustang parts. Figure when I retire from programming I'll put that into full force and keep the money flowing in

Or it could be 70 Vogons, but I'm not so sure that would be a good thing.

I watch that show lol. The poor guy that has to do all the work and repairs while the other guy just shops for cars and parts.
After the past couple of weeks Im ready to retire seriously but no money :(
-
Re: above 50 years old and still programming
Perhaps you could retire flippantly instead.
-
Re: above 50 years old and still programming
Whats that?
I don't think I'll make it to 50. Already want to quit professional programming and get into something less stressful.
-
Re: above 50 years old and still programming
You could become an international playboy.
Hang out in casinos and get adopted by wealthy widowers.
I hear the pay is pretty good.

I always thought I'd stop programming when they pry the keyboard out of my cold, dead hands... now, I'll be retiring long before that. I've already started researching other careers based on things I've discovered lately that I enjoy doing... originally I had thought about a dog rescue (breed specific) but now I'm thinking about getting into training. Less stressful than a rescue, easier to manage, and just as rewarding.

Introduce yourself into the game's universe, it's a good hobby, and people dedicate to, they are winning pretty money.

Still, you can sell your mustang and you can retire here in my country and do nothing for the rest of your life! :D
That is what other foreigners do since $1 = Php43 here! :thumb:

Re: above 50 years old and still programming
Is it true that you eat dogs out there? I don't think he would like his dog to be eaten :)

Re: above 50 years old and still programming
Actually please someone take him. He has to go as hes too ruff with my grandson and a potential risk. Grandson will always win over dog. Dog is 13 now and that's 91 years old. He has arthritis in his back legs, occasionally falls down but when the mail man comes by hes on the attack lol

Potential risk of what? Sounds like a training issue that should have been dealt with 12+ years ago. I've never met a 13 year-old dog that was "ruff" with anyone. By the time my Irish Setter was that age he slept 23 hours a day and needed help climbing the three steps up to my back porch.
And after 13 years you would just dump off your dog like that? That's pretty cold. Dogs are never too old to learn to be gentile. Your grandson will grow like a weed and in the few years or fewer your dog has left he will slow down enough that you will someday wonder why you ever worried about it in the first place. Unless the dog truly is a "potential risk."

Yes, we eat dog meat here but it is not my favorite, I've tasted it a few times when in drinking session but then again I don't really drink that much, its been years since I last tasted an alcohol.

Hes super active when the mailman comes by. Going on attack mode lol. Hes getting cranky in his old age. We had an "incident" the other day with him and my grandson and it scared the hell out of me. My grandson is doing better and cuts/scratches healing up already.

Re: above 50 years old and still programming
Ok so I think Im done programming full time professionally. Burnt out and ready to go full time with my composites business, its just more satisfying now. Probably take a part time contract job to fill in the gaps if I need to but still like to do the projects I want to program
-
Re: above 50 years old and still programming
Good on you!
What kind of composites?
