Shareware: 30-day trial vs. crippled version
Hi,
Need your opinion.
What's the best to promote your shareware (highest chance people will buy a full/permanent version):
- Offer a 30-day full version
- Offer a 30-start full version
- Limit features in Trial + nag screens

I've moved your thread since it is not a VB6 question.

This is what we do, although we don't use nag screens.
The frontend software is complete and full featured. You can do anything with it that you can do with the final product, except one thing: You can't add more then 15 records to the database.
To get that restriction lifted, you need to buy the product.
Given that our client base deals with thousands and thousands of records, that is a pretty effective way to deal with demo/trial versions.
