Can't find VB6 Developers
We have an enterprise application that is written primarily in VB6. We are currently rewriting it in .Net. However, it will be at least a year before the rewrite is done and we still need to support the existing app. I need to hire at least 2 VB6 Developers for this, but I can't seem to find any qualified candidates because most developers have rightly upgraded their skills to .Net.
Can anyone tell me where I can find good VB6 Developers?
Thank you.

Re: Can't find VB6 Developers
This is a good place to ask...well, actually, there is a Project Request, or Job forum way down on the list that might be better.
I'm very experienced in VB and there are a lot of other very experienced VB 6 coders on here...
But you may want to describe your software, what it does, what needs work, etc. There are some things I'm personally really good at (client/server programs, files, data parsing, etc.) but things I'm not, like Graphics programming (and .NET...I hate .NET).
Edit: There is also www.rentacoder.com which I use myself sometimes to find work.

Re: Can't find VB6 Developers
I don't know of anyone willing to relocate right now.
The two biggest factors I think you'd need to consider are pay scale and the possible offer of retraining. Pay is pay of course.
Offering to provide training to move a VB6 programmer to .Net might be an incentive however. If you're willing to consider that I'd be sure to mention it in any ads you place. Since it might scare a few off, you might even consider explicitly saying it is an option and not mandatory. Some people might be glad to work on VB6 for 2 years and then move on.
It's tricky. Good VB6 developers have always been scarce.

Re: Can't find VB6 Developers
PM me if you are willing to allow programmers to remotely support your app. I'm located in CT - have a small software house here.
