Web Page Uses IE instead Firefox
I notice sometimes if I save a web page and bring it up offline (double click the htm or html file) it loads in IE instead of Firefox which is my default browser.
Obviously, something in the htm or html is telling it to us IE.
Anyone know what this "code" or "script" and how to locate it in the htm file?

No i don't think so.Try this:
Go to your html file then right click and choose "open with", then choose the browser of your choice. If it ignores the browser you choose and opens up in something different then let us know because you may have a virus.

sapator
Selected file and "Open With" Firefox. Firefox opened the offline file BUT first it made a call to the web page where I had downloaded the file.
Without using "Open With" the offline file still wants to use IE instead of Firefox (and yes I doublechecked that Firefox is default on startup"
----------------------------------------------------
I do NOT like a offline file "calling home".
I assume (????) the only way to stop this is to delete all the scripting and html prior to the information of interest to me on the web page.
Know of any program that will do this automatically without the need to edit each file??

Solved Mystery.
For some reason the "htm" file type was set to open with IE instead of Firefox, The "html" file type was set for Firefox.
Learned something --->> The file type will override the browser default.

Ye you can't force html to open a browser. We must also learn that too
