    Resetting Win2k Folder Permission[Resolved]

    Hi,
I have a big problem, i some how messed up my primary hard disk, i think i got infected by boot sector virus and cant boot from my c drive. It says in accessible boot device. I can log onto the c drive using windows recovery console but i can not open any of my folders, it says "permission denied".

Luckily i had a backup copy of win2k on my 2nd hd. I can log on to my 2nd installation of win2k. Now i have two problem.

First my cdrom and cdwriter are not working. There is no error, even in device manager it says the both devices are working fine. When i put on any cd and try to open it, it says drive not ready .

Second problem is i have set the permission of some of the folder to the user "Danial"(adminsitrator). Now i can not access those folder from my 2nd installation of win2k even though i am logged in as admin. Is there any way i can reset the permission of those folders. I know you guys are gonna probably say it can not be done, but there is way around everything and i have to get those folder some how.

    So anyone got any ideas.

    Thanks for your help.

    Danial
