FrontPage may be cool, but it tends to add extra code, and it's probably optimized for IE.

I think DreamWeaver is the best.!!!

Dreamweaver is the best (in my opinion).
Front Page is good BUT I get sick of it adding code it thinks it needs.
I actually prefer writing the code myself, 1stPage 2000 and HTMLKit are excellent for this

Dreamweaver is the best Frontpage sucks ass (for some reason major companies seem to want to use it .. fortunately, or unfortunately, I have an MCE in it :p). But notepad is the best for adding and changing code..
Dreamweaver is the best WYSIWYG program tho :) Especially with all the plugins and extra stuff you can get :D

there are loads of notepad-style apps that include syntax highlighting as well, context (http://www.fixedsys.com/context/) is one I use

wheres Homesite? and I think there are a bunch more to add to the list as well.
but in my opinion they all suck. Context RULES!!!
how can you vote if you don't use any :p

Homesite's not WYSIWYG. Front Page is evil, so I'd vote for Dreamweaver if I didn't hate WYSIWYG editors.:D

I have never used anything but Notepad and will continue not to use anything but Notepad. However, I do sometimes use IntraDev for it's ASP/Script popups (like Visual Basic has). Other than that, nothing. Never used a WYSIWYG.

Textpad is free, you just get messages every so often asking you to register it.
It's a small price to pay for such a powerful tool.

I downloaded Context, but i still prefer my TextPad :) , TextPad and ConText are very similar but i just prefere textpad may be because i just used to it, also i cat do without that "Find in Files" feature :D.
Yes like progressive said you can use TextPad for as long as you like, you only get a reminder once in a while, but i have to say it doesnt really bother you that much.
And you can alwasy get hmmmm ;-), not that i will ;-)

Actually, Notepad is pretty mediocre compared to other plain text editors...

Has anyone used HTML-Kit? I really like it for web coding

I use HTML-kit. It's pretty good, but occassionally locks me out from saving my file.
I also use Dreamweaver for complex layouts and graphical sites. I have no problem with it really, but do prefer to just get in there and hand-code sometimes.

HTML-Kit locks me occasionally too when I'm working on an ISS server from a terminal, but then again, Dreamweaver also does that so I dont think its the softwares fault.
I use Dreamweaver occasionally too, for doing complex layout.

Dreaweavers best feature IMHO is the library functionality.
It does away with the need for SSI on the server.

I'm a big fan of Dreamweaver. I can hand code in notepad but it sooo time consuming for a simple layout.
In college they're teaching us on Arachnophilia. Has anyone heard of it?
