Parksie
Mike Parks, Parksie, has died. It was almost certainly suicide - there are no details on it other than the fact that he had a letter, addressed to me.
The last time anyone spoke to him was 1:10AM friday night (or saturday morning).
You were an awesome guy Mike.

Do we have any reliable sources of information on this matter? I refuse to believe something of this nature penned by a member with fewer than 10 posts!
If this is a hoax then you deserve to be reported to spam control and / or the authorities.

Terrible news.

This has nothing to do with pity. Its about respect for one of best people to grace this board and others with his presence.
Show a little respect.

No matter what the circumstance is, the sad fact is that he is no longer here.
Many of us here have very high respect for Mike(Parksie) for the way he has conducted himself here as a result we are trying to show our respect NOT pity
Many of his closest friend is reading this thread, and your views whether justified or not was totally un-called for. If you have such opinion was it not better that you didnt express them here at the time when his family and friends are mourning him and trying to come to terms with his loss?
You should consider their feeling when they read comment such as yours before postin them.
I would request you to delete your post too.
Thanks

Well ...
That's really bad news.
Parksie, I must say suicide wasn't the best way out of life, how much ever it sucks. Anyways, now that it's done, it can't be undone. I pray to God you get in your next life whatever you missed in this life.
I don't remember who said that, but I did wonder in my initial days what would happen if one of the more known members actually logged out of this world. Would anyone ever come to know. I remember we all were worried about Denis Wrenn after the 9/11 tragedy because he was the only known person to be living around there. Afterwards we knew of a few others who had had a brush with death on the day, but never anyone who actually left. It was a feeling that whatever happened, the members and the forums would probably continue till the end of this world. Life is cruel sometimes.
I don't have words for his friends and family. It's a loss that cannot be made good in any way. I am truly sorry to hear this news.

I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS FROM MAGIUS...
He IM'ed me this morning with the news.
Parksie helped me years ago when I was semi-newly registered and did a damn fine job explaining things to me, he will be missed.
To the other moderators out there who knew him in life, I pass on my condolinses, and my prayers...
My Heart goes out to you and to the rest Mike's friends and family.
As someone who has died by his own hands many times over, and always lived to tell about it, I only wish I had known him as well as you guys did and perhaps been able to help him release some of whatever pain he was feeling...
May he rest in peace

Funny thing about the post: I guess it doesn't make any difference under what name you post, because I don't think anybody has any ill-feelings towards him.
