Host Site myself
I want to host a website myself rather than through a third party. Does anyone know any good articles that will walk me through the process? I have hunted high and low but cannot find any. I got a server and IIS set up on it, what else do I need to do ?

If you have a registered domain name then you need to add your server's IP (providing it is static) to your registrar's DNS. That way when someone types in www.You.com it goes to your server.
That is a start...

gotham the first thing you need to do is get a dedicated line from your server to the Internet. If for instance you have a cable or DSL connection and are using Windows 2000 or XP Pro you everything you need. If you expect any amount of traffic you are going to have to purchase Window 2000 Server because the professional versions only allow 10 simultaneous connections.
There are two things you are going to need to get straightened out with your ISP. One is that you need to find out whether running a server on your connection violates your agreement with them and then you need to get a static IP Address. Then as jesus4u said you just need to set the pointers at your domain registrar to your IP.
I did look for a tutorial to help you out with this but couldn't find anything useful. Sorry and I hope you still find something that helps you out in this.
