    I don't know how it was supported before, but if you remember it was a lot slower and there were frequent problems. Jupitermedia (one word) is an organization that owns a number of wibesites. Here are some of them

    * http://forums.javaboutique.internet.com/ (Java related)
    * http://forums.webdeveloper.com/ (general web development)
    * http://forums.databasejournal.com/ (database applications)
    * http://www.codeguru.com/forum/ (programming language related)
    * http://www.flashkit.com/board/index.php (Flash related)
    * http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/ (php related)
    * http://www.aspmessageboard.com/ (ASP/.NET related)

    Hmmmmm..... I'd guess the cost was coming straight out of someone's pocket.

    The nice thing is that this forum fits with what Jupitermedia does. To expand, Jupitemedia has 160 or so sites and 100 or so eNewsletters. They also do a number of small conferences and webinars. Finally, they have a great research division as well -- Jupiter Research. For Jupitermedia, this forum is a part of what they do -- not a secondary thing. For the previous owners, this was really a secondary thing.

    Back in John's days, this site was for showing off vBulletin so his company probably payed for it.
    Karl Moore was paying for the site on his credit card I believe.

    If you click on the 'members' button, you'll see that a large number have 0-2 posts. Not many members come back after they find their answer to a question.
