That... is insanly wierd. Anyway, the question was...
I am currently in the planning phases of a database engine for Times of War, and i am in need of some input. Id like to know what you all think are necessary features of a general purpose database engine, and also what kinds of bells and whistles you might like to see.

Suggestion: consider www.gnu.org
Apache is a server that provides diverse DB functions. Written in C.
You might want to peek at what goes on under the hood.

Thanks Jim. When I get the chance I will take a look at the Apache source, though it will be a few weeks.
Beacon: Yes, I am writing my own database engine, though nothing will be getting done for a few weeks. I dont know if I will need any help with the implementation(sorry =), though I do plan on releasing a usable version as standalone software that can be used in other applications.
