    Language

    VB 6 or .NET

    Final Entry Date

    25th December 2004

    What is it?

You must design the interface and code for an alarm clock, which has the following –

    - Tells the time in any way the users wishes (24 Hours or 12 Hour)
    - Can have an alarm which can be set to any date\time
    - 3 Modes for the alarm, Graphical (image), sound or text

The application you submit must only include 2 forms, frmSettings and frmClock

FrmSettings – This is where the user may adjust what mode of alarm they wish to use and also when the alarm will go off!

FrmClock – This is the main form, which tells the current time and date!

Three is nor restrictions in using modules or class modules

The above things must be included in the application failure to do so will result in your entry being removed from the contest! After these things have been added you may wish to ‘upgrade’ you application and add extra things such as

    - Save and Load the alarm so it need’nt be reset (.ini file, txt file, etc)
    - More ways to show the time
    - User specific alarms ie what text appears or what picture etc
    - Etc etc etc

    Main aims

The main aims of this contest is to design a successful GUI (hence we are restricting you to 2 forms) but also we will be looking at how your code works!

    Marking

Since this contest is weighted towards the interface the majority of the marks will come from this,

    - Ability for the user to move around from place to place
    - Ability for user to change settings quickly and with relitive ease
    - The way it looks
    - Etc

Also because you will be adding in the code we will be issuing some marks for the code!
We are also looking at a user voting system, as soon as we decide on the final method you will be told!

What If My Code Has Problems?

If there are any compile errors with your code or it simply does not work, it will not be accepted into the contest (simply because I dont have the time to debug code as well as mark entries)

Where Do I Send My Work?

To submit your work create a new Thread in the Contest Entries Sub-Forum. Please title your Threads "Contest 4, GUI Alarm Clock - Username", changing Username for your username. Attach a Zip file to the post and include all your source files in it.

What Format Should My Work Be In?
It would be best if you could zip up your project using winzip or another similar program! Also please put it in the root directory of the zip!

Source code only please i cannot accept exe's or any form of compiled code!

    Final Note

Have fun please remember the aims of the contests are to have fun, also please note commented code is not required but prefered!
