We can see you have gotten over it by your continued attacks on GT at this forum. Please note if you have a problem with GT then the correct action would be to make the staff at GT aware of your problems, and not to slander the site at other forums.
I would invite Brad or any other Jupiter Media personal to visit GT and see for themselves that vbf is in no way bad mouthed at our boards. Heck you can even put in a reasonably sized vbf banner in your sig if you join
Once again we have the problem of some one who is incapable it would seem of reading what are fairly straight forward rules, has breached them more than once, [**** REMOVED BY ADMIN ****]

Slander? What I say is true. You told CornedBee that either he could mod DKB or GT but not both. That is all that I said and it is true. Even CornedBee admited it in this thread. So my statements about you monopolizing and forcing users to choose was correct. I have nothing to grow up about. I can honestly say that I don't make people choose between sites or even keep them from advertising for other sites. You are the ones that need to grow up because if the only way you know to deal with competition is to force people to choose between your site and the others, then you need to grow up.

That too is a lie because when myself and TechGnome had banners, or even links, to DeveloperKB.com, we got a rash of crap from you all. We got PMs and eventually had our sigs changed manually by Admin. It appears that you are the ones telling lies as everything I've said can be backed up. Once again,

JCScoobyRS and Jethro -
Please do not continue your conversation in this thread. If the two of you need to hash this out, please take it to Chit Chat or (more appropriately) to Private Messages.
I believe you have gone way off topic of this thread and entered into a discussion best left to private messages.
Thanks,
Brad

Brad,
I will respect your rules and understand them completely. Just can't sit back and let someone lie to my face. Sorry about that, Jeremy

Can we just hire a Roman Theater and have a show down? Some of you can have modified weasels for weapons and the other couple of you can be armed with freshly drugged up salmon...you can win by either a kill, or a default win by eating the oppositions weapon

I'd never thought I'd say this, but can we can back onto the topic of conversation regarding VBF policies and sigs
Maybe the rules are a little blury in parts.
If the policy, that you agreed to, states a certain rule then the users must abide by it, or face, at the extreme, the possibility of being removed from the site
However controversial these rules maybe, or how much you disagree with them, anyone who steps outside of these guidelines is wrong, and thus shouldn't complain if/when action is taken.
If it weren't for certain policies then good forums sites wouldn't exist. It's a hard job getting these right and trying to please everyone. It's impossible to please everyone. Personally I would ban large sigs, I bloody hate them, but that's because I'm an evil sadistic badger
Maybe a few polls, and other discussion threads, relating to the grey area of the rules and policies may iron things out...? Maybe put certain very grey policies to a public vote? Would JM be willing to consider reviewing certain policies if there was a big enough majority?
Play nicely now
Woka
PS. Bugger, when I started writing this post Jethro had just added his 1st post, god I'm slow tonight

Ok,
As far as Honda goes, they do make a good car but I would personally never buy one.

What we have here is failure to communicate....
What we need here is a bookie to take bets on where this will end and who will win!

Let's get back on topic here people. The discussion is rules of conduct. Sigs to external sites should be banned as no one can actually prove who owns what nor should they have to take the time out to check. If you have an interesting link you'd like everyone to visit, take it to Chit-Chat. Laters, Jeremy

Can we have the irrelevant posts removed?
Sorry peoples, I just think is one of those serious threads that should have posts relating to the subject in question only. It's an interesting thread and I am intregued in other users' points of view.

Agreed.
I have no problems with the rules here. As you can see, I have no sig at all. The points trying to made here are obvious.

One of the things that I am not clear on is random links in the sig.
So, for example, the following is a typical sig I have had in the past, and like most sigs I have used over the years, it contains a link.

This is definately worth a look.
You wouldn't be happy if this happened to you

Hahahaha...quality

Would a sig like this be acceptable?

Would it be bad to mention www.galahtech.com competing sites, or 'violations' if you will in a post?
What about www.galahtech.com subliminal messaging? Is that a no-no?
Err... sorry aboot that.

By the terms he suggested, yes, since it's in no way competition to VBF. I just think that links in sigs complicate things. You can have a link saying "Click Here" and it can be a link to a porn site or a competitor of VBF. Who should marshall that and take care of it? It's too easy to disguise links and I don't think that management should have to take care of it. They should set the rules and then they should be respected. Now that would only happen in a perfect world so you'll get people breaking the rules and then, who has to take time out of their day to fix it? What should the fix be? I think that external links in sigs should just be banned. That is the easiest fix to the problem. Thanks, Jeremy

Hahaha, rjlohan, you couldn't have joined the conversation at a better time.
I can see how the rules are a little cloudy regarding my last post, but doesn't rjlohans sig clearly, and noticably, violate these policies?
Sigs like rjlohans, are clear advertising. I am not a fan of adverts on the web, and I know most of you arn't, so why shouldn't sigs like that be removed. Surely that's a good thing is it not?
No offence rjlohan, not getting at you, just using your sig as part of the discussion.

None taken woka. I don't mind if someone wants to edit my sig, although I can't be arsed. I never post here anyway (no longer a VB dude), except to join in these fun threads with a bit of inanity.
