    Solving Equation...

    Can someone help me solve the following equation using only the basic laws of indicies for rational exponents? i.e. No use of logs etc

    The equation is

    5 * (2^x) - 4^x = 4

    The answer is given as 0 and 2 in my text book. Can someone show me how this is arrived at?
