    Talking Windows Animations

    Hi!

In windows, there are animations such as search, magnifying glass rotating around a computer, and a flashlight shining on a folder and many others.

Where are these animations stored and how do you use them?

    Thanks a lot!

If you've got Visual Studio, you get the AVI files as well. If you don't they're all compiled within the various applications. They might be a free download on microsoft.com though....

If you do have VC, they're under these folders:

    \Visual Studio\Common\Graphics\Video
    \Visual Studio\Common\Tools\VCM

If you've got VB, you get this one:
    \VB98\Wizards\PDWizard

    Hi!

    Thanks for replying!

Isn't there any place in the system (in some .dll maybe) where they are stored?

I know about the ones that come with VB5, but they are the 95 style.

I have WinXP, and I'd like to use the nice 3D animations.

    Thanks!

I wouldn't know about XP I'm afraid. They may well be packaged inside one of the system DLLs, although which one, I'm not sure. Try the shell32.dll, I know that's got a lot of icons in it.
