    Your WinXP got problems?

    As above.

I am going to upgrade to WinXP Home Edition OEM to install Studio.Net.

So I want to see how many of you are having problems with WinXP. From what I know, there is no definite solution to the infinite loop problem in WinXP. That's what I worried about.

one some cards/motherboards, the video card would get locked into a infinite loop on XP...that was due to bad drivers on NVIDIAs part, mostly happened with VIA chipsets

    what's your motherboard and psu?

problem been traced back to either not enough voltage to the agp slot, or the card being damaged. for me it was a damaged card, i returned it and it worked fine on older drivers

Screwed up with the 23.11s if I recall correctly.

Also had search problems and IE kept crashing. So I just said screw it and installed 2K again, I'm a happy camper

You don't really need XP to run .NET anyway....
Just install the components update which installs the .NET Framework and you're good to go. Do you happen to have Win2000?

On the one box that I have with XP, If I log in, then Switch User, Go into another User, log out, then try to log back into the original user, BSOD. Happens every time.

No, I'm still running win98 first edition.

My mobo is via chipset based and I'm using nVidia TNT2 but driver is 12.90.

I think WinXP supplies its own graphics card drivers, isn't it?

So what is the official release number of nVidia drivers, still 12.90?

I'm very worried if WinXP doesn't work on my comp. It is going to burn another hole in my wallet with win2000.

they have them, but you wont get 3d acceleration

the problem was with the 28.32 (something like that)

    the 27.x drivers work fine.

    latest official version is 28.something
