Are the VBF Members who may have traveled that line present and accounted for?

Well, Chit-Chat does seem a little empty lately...
Everything I say is either loose interpretation of dubious facts or idle speculation rooted in irrational sentiment.

I don't think any of us travel that route regularly - especially at that time of day.

    Not good news, though.
Indecisiveness is the key to flexibility.

How bout you stop contemplating that there's a possibility that some of the vbforum members might have been there. I meant that.

Being concerned for people must be something that frogs can't understand.

Aust. trains go so slow it is hard to tell the difference between moving and standing still... but I do remember having to stop midway on a TGV trip from Paris to Bordeaux becos someone had put an object across the track... I wonder how they find out about these things in time to do anything about it.

They probably have sensors, cameras, etc. on it somewhere.

So what do they do? Build bigger, better trains. Now we will have the luxury of double-thick padding and a/c while we are stuck at Cowan or some such no-man's-land...

Also, not meaning to belittle the accident, but that's pretty ****ing lucky - only 7 deaths...

I think the worst we've had in Oz was at Granville back in the 80's (?) lost about 100 ppl or so... maybe more, I forget, but it was lots.
