Based on the principle of how a CD works, it wouldn't be able to be read... I'm 99% sure it's just a protective covering on the top for whatever reason, every spindle has them...

but the thing is that it looks like a normal CD... it's just missing the graphic part on the top.. on the bottom it looks like it has all the needed stuff... but I guess not
Does anybody where I can find CDRs taht look like that?

??
it's a protective cover! I've got 2 right here
It protects the one above from getting scratched which is why it was the last one in the pack

they come on mosts spindles. The actual recording surface is a very thin layer that can peel off the CD like foil. The plastic on the CD just protects that. (i enjoy dissecting AOL CD's)

that's funny because today my friend was telling me how she did something to some CD and somehow it got wet and it started peeling and it wont play... Is water the problem or something else might have caused it??

It looks really cool when you run several thousand volts of electricity through a cd. You see a spark go through the cd and vaporize that foil stuff in a circular pattern from the spot on the side where you got the electricity coming through..

I used a 10,000 volt transformer from a water heater and connected it to an electrical outlet.

so you can see thru it???
and it stilled played, impossible. the laser has to have something to bounce off of. if it goes through then it doesn't see the pits in the cd.

i did not think burnable cds used pits, coz how is a laser supposed to make a pit in a cd?? are they not just covered in some dye that becomes reflective?!?
