annoying beep
I just upgraded from millenium to XP when i finished the upgrade
I was met with an annoying beep that happens every few minutes a have been trying to figure out how to get rid of it for two weeks. It has finally driven me insane and i dont want to go back to millenium. Does anyone know why i'm getting this beep?

Is this beep in Windows or what?
Check and make sure your soudn card is working as the system will usually beep if the soudn hardware is not working correctly
I'm bringing geeky back...

Try this:
open regedit,
goto
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound
and set beep to No and the reboot
i'm not sure if this is the exact location in XP, but it should be somewhere around there.
If you can't find it, do a search for "beep" or "control panel" in regedit
Hope this help
