Thread: Stuff "Hyperactive Member". How about "Useless Poster"?

I think it might be a good idea to allow ppl to vote on how helpful they think other members' posts have been. Perhaps on a 1-5 or 1-10 scale. That way ppl who just post 1000s of completely useless posts wouldn't get all the glory that they currently do.

Only prob is that ppl might become nasty to the ppl who they don't like and always give them 0/10, and some ppl may not vote at all.

Perhaps when you get that email saying

    Hello,

Wannabee Guru has just replied to your thread...
the link that you get could take you to a special version of the post where only the person who started off the thread could vote on the replies that they received?

We also will not be awarding special 'anti-guru' or other indiviual titles. This site exists as a resource for VB programmers, and I think that it is important not to lose this focus. If we go giving one person their own title, then everyone will want one - and we don't have time for that.

Just remember that it is just a title. If you have a statement to make, why not make it in your signature?

    True.

I was also intending it as a way for more experienced members (like yourself...suck!!! ) to gain respect. And for other people's replies to be taken with a pinch of salt if they tend to talk out of the proverbial

The current ranking system is not really appropriate to this kind of site (IMHO) - it is more of a chit chatty thing for non serious sites. I personally would be more than happy to do away with it in favour of a more fair method or none at all!
