Clones and Biometrics

I just read an article about human cloning. Aparently there are three women who are in their first trimesters, all pregnant with cloned children. All three projects are very secret, and there existance is admitted by a famous Italian scientist who claims he has no direct involvment and refuses to divulge more information. It is possible that neither of these pregnancies will carry to term, through design or accident.

But the reality is, human cloning is here. It is possible, merely waiting the chance to be used. It is far from the idea of cloning a master race, but it is not far from mimicing you.

Currently there are lots of criminal investigations that rely on DNA evidence. Among these are rapes, or aggrivated assaults. With the idea of cloning, I could frame you with DNA evidence, something that has never been possible before.

After obtaining a sample of your DNA, I could begin a embryo. I could extract stem cells and later coax them into whatever cells I would need to frame you (though sperm and blood aren't full blown cells are they, so I'm not sure of the steps needed to get there, but we could duplicate skin). The embryo need not be grown. In other words, it would take less than nine months to gather what I needed to frame you, I don't need to actually clone you, just parts.

(on the plus side, we aren't terribly far from cloning you new skin in cases of severe burns, or a new liver, heart, kidney, bone marrow, et al)

Mind you, this isn't possible today, but it wasn't even a consideration 10 years ago. It could be very possible tomorrow.

Now DNA is potentially falliable evidence.

I was wondering, finger prints and retinas are random chance, right? Clones wouldn't have the same finger prints, right? 'Course, I could duplicate your finger prints with a rubber casting.
