Anybody tried VB.NET
Hi!
Did anyone try VB.NET (not beta)? I am curious how it performs resource-wise (does it run as well as VB 6 or much slower)? Looks like it finally has all a developer might want from a programming language, but speed is still an issue for most people.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Stanislav

Is that the final version shipped in March?
Hi!
Thanks for your reply. Later yesterday I discovered that there was a separate forum called Vb.Net and I saw your post there. Apart from having to ship the huge runtime of 17 Mb in size, my applications won't work on machines earlier than Win98 SE, which is the lowest possible OS supported by Net. So just as you chose, I think I will stick with VB for a year longer and start learning Delphi in the meantime. Delphi is lots more powerful than VB6 - supporting everything NET cracks up to support, and this programming language looks much better on the resume than VB6, so this would be a good choice. When NET works its way deeper into the programming world, I'll see whether to learn it or not.
Best regards,
Stanislav
