    Angry

Is this just a rumor? I heard vb7 is going to be called VB.Net. Why isn't it just going to be vb 7, why are they renaming it?

I think it's because it's such a big step up from VB6 (hopefully) they want it to stand out so people don't think that VB6 will do and not but VB7, like changing Windows 3.x to windows 9x.

    Merlin ?

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

    Question

Why does MS have to call all their next releases .NET? You think they could come up with something a little more original than making all their software sound like web sites.

    Microsoft.net
    Microsoft.com
    VB.net
    Vb-world.net
    Windows.net
    Visual Studio.net
    Fishing.net
    Hair.net
    That's enough.net...

    Confusing?

Hey! http://www.vb.net (Visual Business) is a real site, based in Netherlands... another lawsuit anyone?

    Wink

What you have to understand is that it is Microsoft, and nothing makes sense with them! Also any one who has been put off with all the bugs & service pack in previous releases may take another look!

On a slightly more serious note though, I have read up on VB7 (or the little info there is on it out there) and agree with Sam Finch.

VB7 has concentrated mostly on functions for the internet, rather than on add-ins & bugs. I found the MS site useful as well as a link from this sites newsletter for info on the product. Sorry I can't be more specific as I deleted them, but do a search on both.
