Adding a new NT computer to the network ***Resolved***
Can anyone post or point to some good instructions on adding a new NT4.0 computer to the existing network (we also have a server running NTserver 4.0 on the network)? I am a programmer not a sysadmin (but with my small co I play the part of the entire IT dept.) I have added most of these computers before but each time i forget what I did and am now having trouble again.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

I keep trying to add the computer to the network domain but I am getting the error. "the controller for this domain could not be located" I know my connection is ok bacause I can connect to the internet with it.

Is your server a domain controller? There is a utility called Server Manager that'll let you manually add computer account to a domain, but I think your safer letting the computer create its own account.
Is your network working - does the server show up in the computer's network neighborhood (could take up to 15 minutes after a reboot).

Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.

Just got it up a few mins ago... I just removed the items in the network panel from the new comp and added them back, came right up.
Thanks,
Michael

Yeah, I've had to do that before - then re-apply the service pack...
