Does anyone here think that if we get enough people together we can force Microsoft and Netscape to play nice and uphold the standards? I think that it's about time they stopped being petty and thought about the developer.

I remember seeing a couple of such online petitions, if you did a search you could probably find them. Netscape finally seems to have got its act together with Netscape 6 about standards, hopefully V6 of Microsoft will be standards complient as well.

It's a long shot man
Just making petitions and all won't stop these companies.
Especially when you consider the fact that Microsoft's
one of the companies. Microsoft's trying to prove that
they're valuable to the software world and hoping that by
doing this they'll win their case. Now if W3C would do
something, then we web developers might have a chance...

I suppose you're right, really. Mainly I was just seeing what other people think...rather than going head to head with MS. That's about as silly as MS going against Sony ...

I totally agree with your sentiments, parksie.
But what is the reality of the situation? If the US legal system is having a struggle to bring Microsoft under control, what chance does a few disgruntled developers have?

Fantasy: Developers gang up and kick the crap out of MS and NS. Standards are devised and implemented. We get it easy, and the consumer has much better web pages to view.
Reality: We have no chance.
