Asado vs asada
Depends on what gender the pig is?????
hmmmmm....where is it indigenous to then? I know it's been in
New Mexicofor about 300 years. I'd assumed it came from Mexico
with the Spanish. But perhaps not.

Aussie Fusion Food - taking the best from around the world and
re-inventing it, using really good quality local ingredients from our
great small scale producers
A summer meal I would love:-
Fresh King Prawn and Mango Salad with
aiolii and vietnamese dipping sauces.
Beef carpaccio, with S.A. extra virgin olive oil
sea salt and fresh pepper.
Seared Tasmanian Salmon Steak
on a bed of linguine and Rocket
with a Thai inspired fresh mint and chilli dressing
Gelati...pistacio and expresso..... from Bravo if you can get it
YUM!!!!!
We are very fortunate in this country to have great food and chefs from all over the world.

Ah you just informing me what to expect from an American menu or would you like these added to the list?

I can't say I've ever had a bull's Nuts Burger. At least not knowingly. But you never know what they put in those Krystal burgers.
By the way, Simon, you said you like your steak medium to medium well ( or something close to that). That's not a pink steak. You gotta tell them you want it medium rare (pink but not bleeding) if you want it like that.
In most places, if you tell them the color, they ignore anything else you say. So if you say "I want it well done - pink in the middle." it will be pink, but not well done.
I had an awesome dish in germany... it was actually an Italian restaurant, but I don't know how authentic it was.
Scallopini Ai Quattro Formaggi (hope I spelled it right). Made it a point to dine there at least twice a month.
Normally, I dine on doritos and bean dip. I'm a gourmet... what can I say

Err....I don't think it was me that said I like "steak medium to medium well". I think that JPicasso who said that (and he's American).
Scallopini Ai Quattro Formaggi
No idea if you spelled it right but is there a brief description you could add to that?

Sorry if I got the wrong person. I read the post several days ago while I was doing battle.
Umm... basically it's a slab of pork with a four cheese sauce. Came with crouquettes (man... I can't spell this stuff) as well.
Essentially the meal was a heart-attack in a pan.

I'm glad it made the grade. If you're ever in Rohrbach (near Heidelberg), the restaurant was Europa's. Everything I had there was outstanding.

Now I know for a fact that you don't know me. If you did, you would know that I would rather eat a dog turd off the pavement than eat a Big Mac (or anything else from McDonalds).

Jenny, apparently you have seen some of McDonald's staff. I think (at least a few of them) consume too much of their own product. I doubt eating said staff members would constitute a lo-cal diet.

oh no you don't. I would never order a steak medium well. I like mine somwhere bettween bleeding and slightly not bleeding.
However, my experience with steaks has been, order what you
want and get what the cook feels like cooking.
cooks generally have an idea what Rare means (still mooing)
and what medium well means (mistaken for brick)
but everything in between seems to be subjective and dependent
on alignment of the planets and such.
I mean, several visits to the same place will yeild the same results, but
from restaurant to restaurant there is quite a bit of variation.
and that's all I have to say about that.
Pork and cheese sounds great by the way.

...Ummmm
that was my evil twin...
yes..twin.... and evil... very evil.
Medication is helping.
I must have forgotten to take it.
hehe.
Not sure what I was thinking. Medium Well is a mistake.
Medium is how I like, a bit pink. Medium Rare to medium, but
I find if I order steak medium rare, it does not come warm enough.
Anyway, I was talking about cooking it myself. Although I can't
remember ever cooking myself a steak and claiming that it
was medium well. Hmm.
If I order out I go with "medium- a bit pink" Much like Mr. Caffeen pointed out.
