    Clasic thief

Remember back in the days of pen and paper RPG 9 out of 10 times you could be from a guild: thief, assasin, etc

I was thinking that a game called classic theif detailing your rise through the ranks (if your good enough) in good ol' RPG style might be a cool idea.

    What say you?

Shouldn't be too tough. It's always good to remember that simpler is better.

That's what I thought (that I could actually do it!)

I was thinking very simple not to many types of item, and a series of "away" missions basied on a standardised map with exeptions listed.

Do you think that people would actually want to play such a game?

I like the sound of any and all games that people try to make in VB as long as their a little more advanced than the usual asteroids/breakout/tetris clones.

And writing a detailed game of any kind that people are going to want to play is an extremely tough prospect. Less than 1% of projects are actually completed, most fail when the author loses interest and impetus.

If you want to give it a go, then there are a lot of good people on these forums who will give advice and assistance.

Don't give up already. Just put programming class in your revision schedule before showing it to your parents. They'll never know.

Hehehehe like the programming in the revision schedual idea.

Fortunately I live on my own.

By the end of this month all projects will be finnished. I can then do some seriouse programming. In the mean time I think I'll tinker with a fight engine!

Thanx again. I'll keep you all posted on my progress. Look out for mentions of clasic theif in these threads soon.
