How the hell do you go about using crystal reports??
I've been told I've got to use it, but nobody is willing to show me how to do so.
I've looked at all the example files, but they aren't very helpful.
All i'm after doing is a simple report, more like a list, of fields from a single table returned by a sql query
are there any really good tutorial web pages or anything ot there???

The help on Crystal reports is pretty helpful, you can also try the Seagate home page. They are the people who make Crystal reports
Hope that helped alittle

You appear to have typed `pretty helpful` where you meant to type a swear word, or perhaps two.
Crystal reports is a nightmare to use, both to design a form, and to use the control. `Snap to` doesnt always work, you cant import time fields from access databases....
i could go on. I would have gone back and written the database code myself and formed a html document to print instead.
Only use if you have to.

Pallex,
I like your idea about doing html code
Presumably I just write code to insert the relevant tags around my data, or is there a more cunning way????

I dont think i know any cunning ways. I`ve used the TxText control in the past, to do the printing from html files. They`re at http://www.textcontrol.com, although i used a copy from a u.k. magazine cover cd (v5.1 i think). Seemed to work ok - headers were a bit off (wrong size), but then theres no standard in html is there - you can just use a bigger font size or something. You may not even notice it.
