I know this is pretty much expected, but this runs alot slower than Windows did on the computer. The installation itself took forever.

Someone said you can play Half-Life on it....

If you've got a slow computer you'll thank yourself, because Linux seems to be able to push out all the FPS it can.

Also you can watch TV on it if you have a TV card.

That's what you get for using Mandrake. It gives the most Windows-like experience of all the distributions--crashes included

Windows hasn't crashed on me in I-don't-know-how-long...only a few random apps, suprisingly most of them non-Microsoft. Dreamweaver and AOL Instant Messenger are the two biggies.

    Hmm...

So if you dont crash much, and I haven't crashed in a while, what makes you say it crashes like Windows?

Same here, KDE was a royal piece of crap and crashed ALL the time, Windows Me was more stable

Hobo: Konqueror is good for making sure your pages look good in all browsers and Linux is okay for servers, but not much else for the average user.

Increase the swap partition size to 2 GB and see the difference.

I have turned on that computer since I installed it. What a waste of $25.

I just don't have time to sit around and wait for it to finish processing. Windows was 10x faster, by any measure.

Man, 98 crashed constantly on me, and the only thing that's crashed for me in Win2k has been due to my POS vid card and it's lack of good drivers...
